XXIV Habano Festival in Havana, Cuba
Teddy's Speakeasy's fame extends far beyond local boundaries, resonating globally. It is a testament to our unwavering commitment to quality and service. A significant milestone in our journey was last week when we participated in the prestigious XXIV Edition of the Habano Festival (February 26th to March 1st, 2024) in Havana, Cuba.
Our presence at one of the parallel events of the Habanos Festival -Cigars & Guitars Cocktail Party- was highly appreciated and praised as guests enjoyed unique cocktails with Havana Club & Jameson by Pernod Rickard, specially created for the evening by Rastislav Rasty Kasar, World Coffee in Good Spirits Champion 2023 and Giovanni Tavano Bartender of the Year 2020 and part of the rest of Teddy's Speakeasy team who traveled to Cuba for the occasion.
Guests, along with our exquisite cocktail menu, enjoyed:
- Live performances by The Managers, the rock and roll band of Mr. Alain Crevet (CEO of ST Dupont), who brought classics and new hits to life
- Delectable canapes, finger food, and beverages prepared by Iberostar Grand Hotel Packard, Havana
- Two Regional Edition Cigars: one provided by Tabacalera SLA that exemplifies the regality of a lion and one by Phoenicia Cyprus that embodies the enduring legend of the phoenix, as well as a unique cigar by Habanos for those who appreciate the finer things in life, and additional, Promocigar SLA also offered its last novelty
- Teddy's Speakeasy draw where Mr. Charalampos Papadimitriou, Owner & CEO, gave the "Passport to Athens" to the winner. A Cuban male guest won 4 days to Athens, Greece (tickets and accommodation) along with an invitation to OAKA to watch a basketball game of Panathinaikos at VIP Lounges, Teddy's Elixir Gold, and Teddy's Speakeasy Platinum- and his presence at a private coffee cocktail masterclass at Teddy's Speakeasy in Argyroupoli.
- Every guest took a valuable and chic present from TS - a leather cigar holster, a wooden key ring, and our open arms, inviting everyone to visit us at Teddy's Speakeasy.
Teddy's exploring Cuban culture
It was not merely a trip but a multi-faceted experience for Teddy's Speakeasy and Belma's teams (Teddy's Marketing & Communication Partner) that further solidified our global recognition.
Our journey began in Havana's vibrant city, greeted by its residents' warm smiles. We made stops at several iconic locations, including the Havana Club Museum, Plaza de la Revolucion, Universidad de la Habana, Palacio Presidencial, Parque Central, Capitolio Nacional, and the historic town squares. The day culminated with a visit to the legendary Floridita, Ernest Hemingway's favorite bar, where we enjoyed a delightful dinner, exquisite cocktails, and listening to Cuban music!
We couldn't miss a ride with the vintage American cars (blue, pink, red, yellow big Cadillac, Chevrolet, etc. ) coloring Havana's roads, exploring more sightseeing!
Visiting a Tobacco Farm in Viñales, Cuba
One of the most memorable parts of our trip was a one-day excursion from Havana to Vinales Valley to discover the Aroma of Habanos: Nature & Tradition. Our visit to the Casa del Veguero farmhouse, where the world's finest tobacco for Habanos cigars is grown, was truly enlightening. The farm owner demonstrated the unique process of making a cigar and the distinct flavor it gets when dipped in tobacco honey before smoking.
